Fresh certified playground chips have that great oak smell and longevity of being a hardwood mulch. Playground Chips have a light tan color when fresh but over summer color will begin to fade and the following season your oak chip mulch will grey. Our Playground Chips have no fines or dust unlike mulch which helps to further slow down your chip mulch from breaking down and ensuring you get a clean uniform chip. Wood chips used as mulch are typically installed 3” deep to aid in moisture retention and weed suppression but for walking paths and playgrounds can be 9″.
